Overview
Story / Lore
Those who study the planes of life and death at Temple of Afterlife get to embrace the power of soul over body, being able to raise the dead from their decaying bodies, becoming Necromancers.
Class summary
Necromancer used to to be an Expanded class, but now it is the base class of Revenant. It has 50 Job levels, and can promote to Revenant on job level 40 as default. This class offers balanced combination of nuke/AoE/debuff and summoning spells.
The most common build archetypes are based either on "mage-necro" or a "summoner" playstyle. First is similar to the classic RO mage class focusing on high MATK values and cast rate, but the interesting part is that besides high INT values Necromancers also favour STR as it gives a significant MATK boost (even more when paired with Lich's Staff - unique 1H-rod available only for Necromancers). Unlike its former state, this class is focused solely on summons, with few options to attack, them being Bone Spear, Soul Strike and Leech Life. With correct stat-distribution, good positioning, and supportive heals from Leech Life, necromancers can be level up pretty quickly and solo most, if not all, pre-second/trans class content.
Be aware that summons do NOT trigger "on-hit effect/spell" equipments and cards such as Kasa Card and Elemental Sword.
Note that this class is quite versatile therefore one can create its own way of playing, like a hybrid between mage and summoner, or even melee version of Necromancer.
Job Change
Step #1: As a Novice Job level 10 make your way to Old Payon District. You can go there by going right from Payon or by using Kafra's teleport from Payon.
Step #2: When in there you must go to the building left(west) from the main palace. While inside, take the portal to the south.
Step #3: Before advancing, make sure you have 2 Cursed Rubies and 20 Skel-Bones. You can get those from Payon Dungeon. Talk to the man, and pick Job Change.
Step #4: Talk to the Pile of Bones, and pick the first option to assemble the bones to the pile. Then, talk to the corpse and use the Cursed Ruby on it. Then, talk to the Pile of Bones again. You'll have risen a Zombie and a Skeleton.
Step #5: Talk to the man again to finish the quest.
Congratulations on becoming a Necromancer!
