Add in to that the fact that their best gear are buyable (you need to slot them afterward) and it becomes clear that Necromancer is an excellent class to start with on Einherjar.
As any other job, you will start in front of Sprakki and you will follow the main questline to get some levels and gear.
Then, when you will go to the Novice Training Ground, you will find several Class Masters, but not the one for Necromancer. Do not worry, this is perfectly normal.

Since you are starting on Einherjar, I strongly suggest you to do all the quests from the different Class Masters. This will give you Class Boxes that can be sold for 2.500z each, a nice way to get some money upfront.

You can also borrow Manuals from the trainers to get some skills from their respective classes. As a futur Necromancer, there is a little trick that is extremely important to know.
Get the Adept and Spiriter manuals !

At the moment, it is possible to have two manuals of the custom classes at the same time. If, at some point, this is no longer an option, choose the Adept without hesitation, you'll understand later.
As a future magic class, pump every point you've got into INT until you reach 90+
Once you have finished all the quests of all the classes, it's time to go into the wonderful world of Rune-Midgard! However, since you don't have a Class Master, you'll have to choose where to go.
Here is a fundamental tip: Ask the Archer Master to become an Archer ! This will bring you to Payon, near the Necromancer job quest.
Arriving at Payon
You will arrive in the Archer Guild Union, step out of the building and go to the north of the map (see screenshot)

Then, you can sell pretty much everything except the skills manual, Novice Butterfly Wings, Novice Fly Wings, Novice Potions.
Before taking the Necromancer test, you will need to get 20 Skel Bones and 2 Cursed Ruby. Don't worry about the Cursed Ruby, the drop rate is increased on the server. However, the Skel Bones might be a bit tricky to get.
Go into Payon Cave and start hunting zombies first (they are slower and give more exp)until you have your 2 Cursed Ruby.

Once you have those, kill the Skeletons until you have 20 skel bones. (FYI, it took me 155 skeletons and 5 zombies to get everything, so be patient).
It's now time to become a Necromancer.

Job Change
(this part of the guide is taken from the Necromancer page, you can find it here)
Step #1: As a Novice Job level 10 make your way to Old Payon District. You can go there by going right from Payon or by using Kafra's teleport from Payon.

Step #2: When in there you must go to the building left(west) from the main palace. While inside, take the portal to the south.

Step #3: Before advancing, make sure you have 2 Cursed Rubies and 20 Skel-Bones. You can get those from Payon Dungeon. Curseed Rubies can be bought from the Niflheim Tool Dealer next to the Warp Gate for 2,000 zeny. Talk to the man, and pick Job Change.

Step #4: Talk to the Pile of Bones, and pick the first option to assemble the bones to the pile. Then, talk to the corpse and use the Cursed Ruby on it. Then, talk to the Pile of Bones again. You'll have risen a Zombie and a Skeleton.

Step #5: Talk to the man again to finish the quest.

Congratulations on becoming a Necromancer!

Stats
The stats of a Necromancer are easy, yet hard to balance.
STR: Needed to carry items and also to bring a bit more damage. I'll put it 3rd and around 20~40.
AGI: Can be useful if you decide to go Bone Spear. Otherwise, it's not particularly useful.
VIT: Excellent stat to increase your survivability and decrease the Status effects. I'll put it 2nd and around 50~
INT: Your main stat, put everything you have into it until you reach 90. Then adjust with your gear to get the next MATK threshold.
DEX: Now as important as you might think. The cast times of Necromancer are quite fast, so you just need to put some for HIT and Cast. between 20~50 depending on how you are feeling it.
LUK:Pour everything's left into it to increase your drop rate.
Skills
Some might say there are three builds for Necromancers:

- Master of the Dead
The Master of the Dead use and abuse of his summons. He is always at maximum capacity of summons (10) and use his spells as support from the backline.

Pros:
- High survivability
- AFK brain while hunting
- Able to kill any elemental target
- Gears are almost non important
Cons:
- Too much dependant on the summons to deal damage
- Weak against AoE attacks
- Dependant on the AI of the summons
- Lich
Pros:
- Huge potential for single target and AoE damage
- A real farming machine at some spots
- Satisfaying to just burst everything
- Can melt most non-HighEnd MVPs
Cons:
- Gears dependant
- Huge consumption of SP
- Some targets are really hard to deal with (especially Neutral Monsters)
The Necromancer tree is quite straightforward since there aren't that many spells.
First, take 1 point into Necromancy, Soul Strike and Leech Life. That way, you can target anything.
Soul Strike cost less that Leech Life and deal better damage at first. Leech Life, however, is faster to cast, heals you and deal damage to Neutral monsters.
That's the build order I would suggest:
Necromancy lvl 1
Soul Strike lvl 1
Leech Life lvl 1
Soul Strike lvl 10
Staff Mastery lvl 5
Leech Life lvl 10
Necrosis lvl 5
Devour Spirit lvl 1
Dark Summoning lvl 5
Devour Spirit lvl 5
Bone Spears lvl 5
Control Undead lvl 2
Raise Skeleton lvl 2
Job 50

As a Lich, your Bread and Butter skill for Singletarget is Soul Strike, and you AoE is Spirit Rupture. So...
Dark Binding lvl 5
Soul Harvest lvl 5
Spirit Rupture lvl 10
Bone Magic lvl 10
Bonemail lvl 2 (Trans)
Evil Land lvl 5
Open grave lvl 3
Putrefaction lvl 1
Magic Mirror lvl 5
Lye Bath lvl 5
Slow Shackle lvl 5 (Trans)
Shackle of Pain lvl 5 (Trans)
Ravenous Horde lvl 1 (Trans)
Free

- BoneBlade
Pros:

- Can have nice output damage on every kind of targets
- Instant cast and fast animation
Cons:
- Heavily gear dependant
- Constant consumption of Skel Bones (less money to get and necessity to waste weight on it)
- Depending on a first class skill that is not as powerful as it could be
